I think Harbor Freight used to sell these through their catalog years back . I used to have one in my teens, but it was lost long ago. Self-winding, too, IIRC.

Did BM2 make the band from human skin in Gulag?

This one is manual winding. No idea the origin other than my friend got it at an estate sale.

I’ve been told I can’t rule that out.

Happy Birthday!
I have an old Vostok with a red face myself . I’ve accidentally smacked that thing into walls/doors and think its broken because after I wind it it no longer ticks, but a couple of days later I wind it again and its fine.
Also on the bottom of your watch face written in Cyrillic is “Made in the USSR”

Appreciate it!
That’s weird, I heard getting people to work on Russian watches can be difficult, if you want anyone to take a look .
That it does.

Now that you can keep an eye on the time, you won’t feel like you are Russian around.
(this is the best I can do with my less than normal dose of coffee this morning)

Those are neat watches. I have a couple that I have i n their original little plastic boxes. There was a Russian dude at a gun show about 1991 that had a whole pile of them. I bought a tanker and a submariner . I think I gave $30 each. I did wear one of them for a very short time, but then cleaned it up and put it back in the box.

That’s pretty fucking neato. Planning on wearing this one occasionally, bought a NATO strap for it off of amazon:

No idea. This one needed some work to make it tick again. I heard from my friend who gave it to me it can be difficult to find people willing to work on Russian watches.
